For Educators

The museum offers a variety of teacher training opportunities, and we are certified by the Texas Education Agency to issue CPE’s to teachers attending any of our educational events. Holocaust educators are encouraged to contact the museum staff if they have any questions or concerns about creating and implementing their own Holocaust educational units and materials. Please consider joining the Museum for a special $18 Educator membership.

Museum Visit Orientations lasting two hours, are offered several times a year and at no cost to the participant, because of the generosity of The MB & Edna Zale Foundation as well as the Greater Dallas Jewish Federation. We cannot stress strongly enough how important it is for the lead teacher/s to attend an orientation, preview the museum, and discuss tour options and procedures before scheduling a school visit. This is essential in order to maximize the educational meaning of the students’ experience. Visit Orientations are listed on the event calendar online.

Teacher Workshops, lasting a full day and focused on a variety of topics, are offered throughout the year both at the museum and off-site.  They often showcase original curricular materials created by the museum and innovative pedagogical approaches. We include interactive activities and encourage teacher participation and an exchange of ideas. Teacher workshops are listed on the event calendar online. Teachers may register online or by calling 214-741-7500, ext. 104. These workshops are supported by The MB & Edna Zale Foundation, the Sam Roosth Foundation and the Jewish Federation of Greater Dallas.

Guest Lectures are offered both to teachers and to the general public. Lecturers speak on a variety of topics related to the study of the Holocaust, the promotion of tolerance and learning about genocides.  Lectures are listed on the event calendar online as well as publicized in local media.  Questions can be directed to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
