Teaching with Defiance: Jewish Resistance and the Bielski Partisans

During World War II, the Bielski brothers rescued 1,200 Jews and organized the largest all-Jewish resistanceunit in Europe. The film Defiance (starring Daniel Craig) tells their true story. Engage your students in critical thinking about history, leadership, ethics, and Jewish values with the Jewish Partisans Education Foundation’s multimedia curriculum on teaching with the film.
