Join the Dallas Holocaust Museum on April 3 at the Angelika Film Center-Dallas for the premiere of the HBO Documentary film, Fifty Children: The Rescue Mission of Mr. and Mrs. Kraus.
Sponsored by HBO and presented by the DHM in conjunction with 3 Stars Jewish Cinema and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, the film tells the dramatic, previously untold story of Gilbert and Eleanor Kraus, who traveled to Nazi Germany in spring 1939 to save 50 Jewish children. Amid the impending horrors of the Holocaust, they brought what was to date the largest known group of children to the United States, despite the country’s rigid immigration laws at the time. The film, assembled with vintage photographs, replays the daring rescue.
The evening begins at 6:30 pm with a reception featuring strictly kosher food prepared by chef Stephen Pyles. The film begins at 7 pm and will be followed by a panel discussion.
The Angelika Film Center-Dallas, 5321 E Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, 75206. Ticket information will be announced soon.
