Cor Suijk (pronounced Sowk), who served as director of the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam at the behest of Otto Frank, Anne’s father, embodies the word Upstander.
During the Holocaust, Cor Suijk and his father hid Jews and encouraged their neighbors to do the same. Cor was imprisoned in a work camp when he was caught with identification papers intended for his hidden charges.

As Director of the Anne Frank House for decades, Cor supervised some of the most powerful traveling exhibits on the Holocaust. Now in his eighties, Cor teaches young people all over the world to avoid the tragic consequences of hate and indifference.
It is an honor to have Cor Suijk join us on Thursday, June 21 at 6:30pm, in the DHM/CET theater.
