What visitors are saying about their experience at the Dallas Holocaust Museum/Center for Education and Tolerance:
“Moving experience.”
First time visitor to the Dallas Holocaust Museum and we had an educational time. For a museum as small as it is, they do a good job of recreating a day in the holocaust. Three major events occurred on April 19, 1943 that shaped the holocaust and that is what the exhibits are based upon. A larger facility is being planned and look forward to when it opens as they’ll be able to cover a larger cross section of the holocaust itself.
While we were there, they also had an exhibit of photos taken by Anne Frank’s father, Otto. Chronicles the short life of his kids Margot and Anne Frank prior to them going into hiding in Amsterdam.

“Very Impressed. Informative but not overwhelming”
Small museum. There was an Ann Frank photo exhibit while we were there that was excellent. The museum treats the subject matter in a way that you are moved but not shaken when you visit. The interview with the survivors is really done well. The items in the museum are unique and the narrative is captivating. We took 15-18 year olds and they were all impressed and moved. Should be seen.

“Good One”
It is a small museum with lots of information. If you are going to Washington DC, then I would recommend the Holocaust museum there.

“This is in Dallas”
Is it comparable to DC or Amsterdam…no and I really didn’t have that expectation. In fact, my expectation was low given the location.
That being said, I was overwhelmed with how very informative and well put together it is. Personally, I appreciated knowing some of the background stories that I hadn’t heard or didn’t remember, especially as it relates to Texas and how detainees came to this region.
The audio is a must in my opinion and I found the staff to be friendly.
It is sad, it is small but very well done.
